Grade to Grade Promotion Requirements

To meet regular grade to grade promotion requirements, students must successfully pass the equivalent of four full-year courses, three of which must be from the areas of English/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies and demonstrate performance in reading equivalent to FSA Level 2.

Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school.

Promotion to High School

To be promoted from eighth grade to high school involves the successful completion of three courses in each of the core academic areas: English, math, science and social studies. Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school.

Also, as part of the requirements for middle grades promotion to ninth grade, the student is required to successfully complete a career and education planning course in the 7th or 8th grade. At Arbor Ridge, this course is embedded in the eighth grade history course.
