Increase in Students Arriving Tardy
Posted Date: 02/05/26 (02:11 PM)

Dear Arbor Ridge Families,
We need your help.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a significant increase in the number of students arriving late —often 20 or more students arriving after the 8:45 AM bell.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a significant increase in the number of students arriving late —often 20 or more students arriving after the 8:45 AM bell.
Instruction begins promptly at 8:45 AM, and students should be in their classrooms by 8:40 AM so they are ready to begin learning when the bell rings.
Beginning Monday, February 9, students who arrive after 8:45 AM will be marked tardy to school.
Please remember:
-
Students arriving after 8:45 AM must be signed in by a parent/guardian
- Park your car in the parking lot — not the fire lane, and bring your child inside
- Per OCPS attendance policies, five (5) tardies to school count as one (1) unexcused absence
- Even small delays add up—being just 5 minutes late three times per month equals more than 2.5 hours of lost instructional time over the school year.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child arrives on time each day. A smooth and timely start helps your child—and their classmates—begin the day ready to learn.
Thank you for working with us to support student success.
